Getting to Telluride

Fly to Montrose

Montrose (MTJ), is the airport most travelers will choose to fly into. MTJ is the closest regional airport. The (stunning) drive from MTJ to Telluride is about ninety minutes.

We recommend most guests reserve a shuttle from the airport to Telluride and back, given how walkable the town is. Two transportation companies provide shuttle van service or private service. Both companies require reservations in advance.

Fly to Telluride

Telluride Airport (TEX), is located just outside the Town of Telluride. Limited flights are offered by Denver Air Connection daily.

Drive from Denver or Phoenix

Driving from Denver, CO, is a beautiful and scenic adventure. Please note, it can take between six or seven hours to make this drive, so plan accordingly. Driving from Phoenix, AZ, is another option. The drive from Phoenix takes between seven to eight hours.

Getting around town

Once in town, a car is not needed to get around town or for any wedding activities. Telluride is extremely walkable and also accessible via the free Galloping Goose bus service. To get between Town and Mountain Village, we recommend using the free Gondola available from 6:30 a.m. to 12 midnight most days and until 2 a.m. on Friday & Saturday.

Should you prefer to rent a car for additional flexibility or to explore the surrounding San Juan mountains, rental cars are available at the Montrose and Telluride airports.
